Bond Park is the largest park in Cary, featuring a wide array of activities for all ages. Bond Park is also the home of the Cary Senior Center, the Bond Park Community Center of Cary, and the Sertoma Amphitheater.
Directions: The Park is located at 801 High House Road, between Cary Parkway and Maynard Road. Off of High House, turn onto Bond Park Drive. Bond Park Drive is located directly across High House Road from the main entrance of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Hours: The park gates open at 7:30 a.m. and close at sunset. Boating hours vary.
Trails for Pedestrians and Cyclists: The Lake Trail is a rugged trail around the perimeter of Bond Lake (2 miles). The Pine Cone Trail (1.4 miles) and the Paw Paw Trail (1 mile) cover moderate hills. The Black Creek Greenway, the Oxxford Hunt Greenway, and the White Oak Greenway also go into Bond Park. * Bicycles can be rented from the Boathouse. Call 919-469-4100 for hours and details.
Boating: Boats are available for rent at the 42-acre Bond Lake. Pedal boats, rowboats (with optional electric motor), canoes and sailboats are available for rent. You can also launch your own boat (less than 16 feet long and no gas motors) for a small fee. Call 919-469-4100 for details and hours.
Playground & Kids: Bond Park has the Lazy Daze playground, with swings for toddlers as well as older children. The playground is fairly large with multiple slides, a sandbox and other activities. Kids may also like to see and feed the ducks and swans along the shoreline of Bond Lake near the Boathouse.
Fishing: Year-round fishing is available at Bond Lake. NC fishing laws & regulations apply. Fishing from the shore is free.
Picnicking: A number of picnic tables are scattered throughout the park. In addition, there are a number of shelters available for rental, including one screened-in shelter by the Boathouse. No alcoholic drinks allowed in the park. Call 919-462-3970 for shelter rental.
Also available for rent: The park has 7 athletic fields, 2 soccer fields (accessed off High House Road, north of Cary Parkway) and the Sertoma Amphitheater, all available for rental. Call 919-469-4061.
